Fundraising/Executive Assistant (Smyrna, DE)
of a Fundraising/Executive Assistant position.
The successful candidate will be available to work Monday - Friday and must be
comfortable interacting with businesses and the general public.
This position will place high priority on seeking tenants for indoor space and doing
fund raising on local level as well as with national foundation(s).
This person will be responsible for promotion and assisting with development after
school and summer programs.
He/She will be promoting activities and seeking sponsorship within the community
and therefore must be comfortable communicating by telephone.
Will also be responsible for working up drafts of press releases to be approved by
program director.
The successful candidate must be proficient in working with Microsoft office including Excel
databases.

Hallmark Part-Time Retail Merchandiser (Wilmington, DE)
In the Hallmark Card Department, you will replenish, straighten, and track inventory of the every-day and seasonal greeting cards and specialty items which includes gift wrap, party supplies and other stationery items. With your INFOLink unit, you will scan bar codes on the products to determine product placement, track inventory and determine replenishment needs. You may also have to walk to areas outside of the card department to service other displays in the store. When your work in the department is complete, you will log out of your INFOLink unit.
This position will require you to lift boxes up to 50 lbs as well as stoop, squat, walk and stand for long periods of time. You will need to interact in a professional manner with store employees, store management and customers while in the store. You will have to complete your duties in an efficient and timely manner to stay within the budgeted hours for the store. If your store(s) is being reset or remodeled an occasional evening or weekend may be required.
Upon arriving home, you must transmit the information captured on your INFOLink to report your time worked and the activities you completed on your service call. There are 2 options for the transmission of the data. You will place your INFOLink unit into a cradle that will be provided to you. The cradle must then be connected either to a phone jack that carries analog phone service or an open port on a wireless router that is connected to an Ethernet (high-speed) computer line. Analog phone service is basic telephone service provided by the local telephone company. The transmission cannot be completed through cellular service or through digital service. If you have phone service through an internet provider such as Time Warner, Comcast or Cox, you most likely do not have analog service. You must have one of these two options in your home in order to complete the transmission.
As a Retail Merchandiser for this position, you will be providing service to a Shoprite store located at 1300 Rocky Run Pkwy in Wilmington, DE. You will need to provide 3 days of service each week with service being completed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Service must be completed in the morning and early afternoon. While hours are not guaranteed, you will typically average 6 - 10 hours per week. You must be available to work the day before and the day after all major card holidays.

Plan, organize and implement selling strategies within assigned territory to achieve and/or exceed established sales goals. Represent and promote Cengage Learning college products to all customers. Advise individual publishers and business partners of marketing trends and competitive developments in the field to encourage and support product development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plan, organize, and prioritize sales strategies to achieve established sales goals
Supporting Actions:
*Develop and revise a Master Plan for every educational target
*Generate realistic sales targets for Top 100
*Develop itineraries utilizing all company resources, including market consultants, product specialists, editors, marketing managers, and other team members via Master Planning process
*Develop daily, weekly, monthly an d annual plans to optimize sales calls on campus
*Develop a plan for effective strategic sampling
*Utilize planning process for development of Regional Business Plan to maximize market penetration of team resources
Standards:
*Bi-annually review of Master Plan with revisions prior to the National Sales Meeting
*Maintain and update Top 100 Target List weekly
*Revise and update itinerary on a weekly basis to reflect territory potential
*Daily plan which incorporates bookstore, dept chairs, professors, lab coordinators. & secretaries and is targeted to sales and manuscript priorities developed for each account with no less than 20 contacts per day
*Evaluate monthly sampling activity against national. average for your specialization
*Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals
2. Represent and promote Cengage Learning products to all customers to achieve and/or exceed established sales goals
Supporting Actions:
*Conduct strategic sales calls
*Represent Cengage Learnings products across multiple disciplines and target/customer revenue responsibilities
*Incorporate custom, technology and product bundling strategies into sales calls
* Demonstrate understanding of retail business and develop relationships with Bookstore Managers/Buyers to strategize sell through and promotional campaigns
*Attend conventions and evaluate sales/editorial opportunities and pursue opportunities to expend revenue and new markets
Standards:
*Average 15-20 face-to-face call daily
*Achieve custom, technology and product bundling goals
*Call on bookstore mgrs/buyers monthly and create strategies to expand market share
*Engage Cengage Learning staff to manage convention participation and effectiveness (set-up, tear-down, etc.)
3. Report competitive Editorial/Marketing information
Supporting Actions:
*Integrate editorial activities into selling strategies to scout for new projects, authors and reviewers
*Generate editorial/marketing leads for potential reviewers
*Identify discipline/school trends to generate marketing/editorial opportunities
Standards:
*Integrate editorial questions into every sales call
*Generate 15-20 editorial leads per year
*Conduct 3-5 in depth editorial discussions per week
*Meet or exceed signing goals
*Initiate 25+ reviewer leads per year
*Generate weekly marketing summaries for customers and/or internal marketing partners
4. Manage territory resources/budget
Supporting Actions:
*Identify and act upon opportunities to retrieve and re-use excess product samples
*Qualify sampling needs in advance to avoid excess in shipping costs, and units
*Review sales and sampling reports
*Utilize T&E resources effectively
*Engage business partners in opportunities to promote sales
Standards:
*Maintain adequate car/home stock of products to promote all sales opportunities
*Review sampling reports regularly, but at least quarterly, to maintain a sampling to sales ratio of 1 to 45 and less than 30% rushed sampling
*Manage T&E budget regularly by reviewing at least quarterly
5. Maintain outgoing communications and reporting
Supporting Actions:
*Exhibit proficient use of technology communication tools and develop skills, as needed
*Update and maintain customer database (CRMS)
*Report to manager as required
*Engage in a team support role
Standards:
*Check email, voicemail, and home answering machine daily and respond in a timely manner
* Engage in a weekly, live dialog with team leader

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
BA or BS degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent experience required. Direct sales, marketing or editorial experience preferred. Must be highly flexible and adaptable to change. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with both external and internal customers is essential. Some overnight travel required. PC proficiency with Microsoft office applications required.
Position requires the ability to drive and stand for extended periods as well as lift and carry books/briefcase, boxes weighing up to 40 lbs.
